WAITING NOT WANTING
SOLIDITY built on balance of forces, the desert has its own subtle energy & imagery. The upper piece suggests an animal or bird immersed in its own revery or waiting silently with serpent intent. The pedestal looks like petrified wood although I believe it is some other sedimentary form with the peculiarly exquisite orange veins like sherbet got thrown in the mix. The balance between the two pieces is ideal giving the impression of solidity & floating at once! A wonderful desert treasure! Pedestal is 4.25″ long x 3″ wide. Upper piece is 3.75″ long. FLOWERS FROM A CHINESE GARDEN
Joyous gorgeousness in this combo piece – The Chinese have always appreciated nature as a source of inspiration artistically & spiritually. Both Taoism & Confucianism look to the natural world as a model for harmony, non-interference & as a template for human forms of organization (in the case of Confucianism). The apprehension of beauty in nature serves as an annunciation or recognition of the inherent Godliness & purpose in the manifest world. 4.75″ long, top piece is 3″ long. APPARITIONING
The Sea of Forms spews forth an unceasing constantly original field of energy shapes. Sometimes the energy takes the form of something we are familiar with or sometimes a suggestion of something we almost recognize. The Aztecs referred to the apparitioning of energy forms as the activity of a “Smoking Mirror” which was one of the multitudinous faces of the Goddess and the door to another reality behind the mirror. The forms of our everyday dimension arise according to archetypal patterns. It has recently been discovered that there are many many other solar systems around Stars we know about where the Planets are approximately the same size & distance from each other as our Solar System. Apparitioning is our story about the energy fields we are immersed in. Physicists see our matter as an interference pattern in a continuous plenum of space & time. GATES OF EDEN (DRAGONSTEETH)
This formation called Dragonsteeth is a tooth like inclusion of Quartz in calcified Sandstone which I have seen in various locations in & around Santa Fe, NM. Perhaps heat is involved in the cracking which makes the rows. I have seen multiple rows at times. With Calcite band from same location. 6″ long x 3.5″ wide. Click on image to see closeup.
AZTEC VARIATIONS III
The main base rock of Aztec Calcite with clear Quartz in chunky patterns reminiscent of Aztec images in stone and the Sun Calendar. Images you see have various smaller rocks included to use in various patterns shown. You can make your own favorite combinations and viewpoints and switch them out for variety or to fit different places in your home. TEMPLE OF THE STONE ANCIENTS
Many ancients cultures have realized the correspondences between morphology, function & expression. Plato, Hermes Trismegestus , the Egyptians, the Chinese, the cultures of the South Pacific with their Mustika Pearls & Native American cultures have used stones shaped like animals, plants & forces to act as fetishes, a word attributed to the Ojibway, an American tribe. When these occur naturally the Zuni called them “stone ancients”. Stones, minerals & elements have families. familiars, communities & environments & these may appear as well.
